Reflection

The Global Learning Medallion platform has given me the chance to heighten my global awareness as well as my thirst for learning about more than just the location I reside in. The attitude change that I have gone through because of my exposure to the world that we live in. I have truly gained a new perspective that I believe will aid me on my journey through life. These tools that I have gained though the whole process of the program such as the roundtables, the Global Learning courses, and my study abroad will become truly invaluable as I go onto Law School and in my career as a lawyer. I can finally say I understand what it means to be a citizen of the world. I aspire to be a person that is able to touch countless live in a positive way, because the only ones we have in this world are each other; so, we must take the first step and not wait for others to take that step for us.

The time that I have spent at FIU has truly been treasured, it has pushed me to do more than just the average, it has given me the hunger of ambition. I want to contribute and find ways that we can improve everyday life from the minute detail to a grander scale. I want to take time and work for the State Attorney in order to sharpen my skills as well as give back to the community. Because of all of the opportunities that I have had in the global learning program, I believe that I am significantly more prepared to find ways that we can improve not only our own society, but our global community. My time in Japan has truly opened my eyes as to where we are lacking in America, and these are changes that could be appreciated around the world, if we can find the things that exponentially success as well as make life better for others; then we can find a way to implement these aspects into other societies or cultures for global benefit.

I want to continue my academic career and attend the FIU College of Law at Modesto A. Maidique. As I have mentioned above, I would like to work for the State Attorney’s office, but after that I want to move into the corporate field while expressing an interest in international business relations. I truly believe that though education and guidance we can create change that would be seen countless generations from now. I have been strongly encoring any other students that have shown any interest in looking into the global medallion, because not only are the courses incredibly enlightening; one can truly find their place in the world. I also advocate the Study Abroad program, because thanks to FIU’s Asia Immersion curriculum. I had the opportunity in experiencing so many things that would be impossible to fully grasp from the comfort of your home; you must step out of your comfort zone in order to truly experience the world.
